Make with Data is our program that supports NYC High School teachers and students with defining and developing research questions surrounding community based challenges (related to sustainability, climate, city systems, health, etc.), navigating open data sources, working with data management, designing solutions using STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics), as well as conducting training in a range of tools for data analysis, how to interpret results and communicate and present their results, how to visualize and write up their findings.
What exactly do we do? We develop activities that align real world climate and sustainability challenges with data sources and scientific methods to address and provide solutions that simultaneously teach important data science skills and how to use analytics software (Excel, QGIS).
